In addition to his collaborations with other writers, Derry Brabbs has produced eight titles as both author and photographer, four of which formed part of the acclaimed 'Country' series published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson. His first two contributions, English Country Churches and English Country Pubs, were published in 1985 and 1986 respectively.

Landmark celebrated the Landmark Trust, a charitable trust that rescues and restores important historical buildings and then lets them out as uniquely atmospheric holiday homes. Abbeys & Monasteries provided a colourful history of England's monastic tradition, featuring a combination of monumental ruins and inspirational cathedrals.

England's Heritage was a major work published in conjunction with English Heritage and contained some six hundred illustrations. Adopting a thematic approach, it progressed from the monuments of prehistory to those of the industrial revolution, the cathedrals, castles, battlefields and stately homes that form such an integral part of England's unique identity.

In the Footprints of Wainwright, combined a retrospective account of Derry’s early career in television with the years spent combating vertigo whilst collaborating with the enigmatic fell walker and author, Alfred Wainwright.

A Year in the Life of the Welsh Marches and Roads to Santiago (the medieval pilgrim routes across France and Spain) are scheduled for publication during the late Summer of 2007 and Spring 2008 respectively. (go to News for further details)
